How to Hurricane-Proof Your Home
We may be more than halfway through hurricane season, but the possibility of the arrival of a big storm is still very real. So, if you haven’t prepared your house yet, now would be a good time.

If nothing else, having a hurricane survival kit is important. Remember to stock bottled water. You should have a half gallon per person per day, and enough to last 2 weeks. So 7 gallons per person.
Other things to have in a survival kit include battery-powered flashlights and radio, extra batteries, a first aid kit, non-perishable food, and a can opener.
