The House That Was Built in a Day

Can one build a house in a single day?

These guys can!

Richard Rogers, one of the most influential architects of the 20th century, did.

The Royal Academy of Arts in London is currently hosting an exhibit honoring him, called Richard Rogers RA: Inside Out, featuring key projects of his, as well as some previously unseen material.

In the courtyard of the Royal Academy, the Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners Manufactured House was constructed.  In one day.

It’s really just the frame of a house, not something functionally inhabitable, but it was done to demonstrate how new building technologies can better shape mass housing.
