A Tea House on Stilts
The Japanese tea house on stilts is reminiscent of the type of tree house Dr. Seuss might design. It’s whimsical and charming – but not for the faint of heart!
The tea house is named Takasugi-an, which (appropriately) means, “a tea house too high.”
It’s built at the summit of two chestnut trees that overlook the town and valley where its architect, Terunobu Fujimori, grew up.
