Winter Wonderland Celebration of Lights

The 2nd annual Winter Wonderland Celebration of Lights will take place twice in December at Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park.

It’s a drive-through event, where you can experience the magic of a light show and Christmas music from your car.

It runs Dec. 11-14 and 18-21 from 6 to 10 p.m. and entry is $2 per vehicle.

Easily accessible from many areas in Tampa Bay, the park is just off of S.R. 54 in New Port Richey.

You can find the park at 10500 Wilderness Drive, New Port Richey, FL 34654 and find more information at Pasco County’s website.

Beautiful Lighting from Foscarini

If you follow my blog, you know I love beautiful light fixtures.  I’m even a little obsessed with them.

I love how light fixtures are necessary, but can also function as a work of art, an expression of your personality.

Anyway, today I wanted to share with you some of my favorites from Foscarini:

Rituals

Tress

Big Bang

I find the subtle white palette of the fixture itself that projects the light in varieties of patterns and overlapping textures that add life to a space.

Moonshine Lamps

I’m fascinated by beautiful lighting.

Based out of Claremont, California, Moonshine Lamp Co. recycles cast off bottles into gorgeous lamps and chandeliers.

Their catchphrase is “Turning recycled bottles into objects of distinction,” and I couldn’t agree more.  Distinction is almost an understatement.

It can sometimes be difficult to take such a fun concept and turn it into something truly classy.

Moonshine Lamp Co. achieves that.  Check these out:

These lights, and many more, are available at Moonshine Lamp on Etsy.

Paper House Lights

I’m a sucker for a beautiful chandelier.

But make a chandelier out of tiny houses, which appeals to the architect in me, and out of tiny paper houses at that, which appeals to the writer in me, well… now you’ve produced something truly magical!

And those shadows?  Amazing.

This light isn’t for sale, unfortunately, but Hutch Studio does plan on making a DIY kit eventually.  For now, if you live in or plan to visit Washington, you can sign up for one of their workshops where you can make one yourself.

I think I need to go see how many frequent flyer miles I’ve got saved up…

In the meantime, you can read all about the brilliant (pun intended) paper house lights at Hutch Studio.

Driftwood Lights

These lamps made from pieces of driftwood are a perfect juxtaposition between nature and electricity.

And they’re beautiful, too.

Their rustic simplicity could accent any room gracefully.  Which one is your favorite?  Where would you put it?

Conduit Iron Series from Troy Lighting

detail of iron chandelier

I love the creativity in the Conduit series from Troy Lighting.  There is a industrial, warehouse-feel to the design, but a sensation of movement to the pieces, as well.  They would fit well in a variety of settings, whether your home had a country or a modern feel.

Here are some of the pieces from the collection:
